"When a police officer is killed, it's not an agency that loses an officer, it's an entire nation." -Chris Cosgriff, ODMP Founder
Recently I have taken initiative (after being prompted from a page on Facebook) to send cards to families of fallen officers in our nation. It is a New Year's resolution of mine, to send some words of encouragement and possibly comfort to those who have lost a loved on in their life, for us, for our nation, having served on the thin blue line that separates us from the evil in this world, as well as lift up their families and departments in prayer. The men and women whom God has chosen to be sheepdogs in our cities, counties, and states.
I recently watched a video tribute on Youtube, which broke my heart, then made it swell with pride! I am so incredibly proud of what these men and women of the law do for our cities and counties, nationwide. Wherever you go, there's a department serving to keep you as safe as possible. Wherever you sleep, someone is up all night with God keeping watch over your home, your families, your city. They are not the enemy, they are the people who have dedicated their lives to standing between your enemy and you, defending you. All give some, some give all. Remember those who serve your nation in their blue uniforms, both past and present. Thank an Officer today. Thank an Officer everyday!!

[The ODMP does not list deaths that result from such factors as officer misconduct, the influence of voluntarily-imbibed alcohol or controlled substances, suicide, or officer negligence. It also excludes deaths caused by off-duty car accidents or private service to a security company or private military company (see site here for 'criteria for inclusion')]
